Between March 2018 and June 2023, the Wandersalon was the mobile discourse format of Urbane Künste Ruhr. In discussion rounds, lectures, readings and concerts, it intensified and expanded the engagement with the themes of our exhibition formats and served as an internal and external research tool. The Wandersalon usually took place once a month at changing locations in the Ruhr area, often in cooperation with local institutions. Invitations were extended to artists and collectives who are involved in an exchange with Urbane Künste Ruhr, as well as other specialists, academics and theorists whose ideas, poetry and critical reflections were suitable for public discussion.
