In Conversation: Artist Bogdana Kosmina & Film Maker Maxime Faure
Artist Bogdana Kosmina deals with the history and preservation of Ukraine's cultural heritage and showed a reconstruction of the Biotechnosphere by the artist Fedir Tetianych in the exhibition Landscapes of an Ongoing Past by Urbane Künste Ruhr in 2024. For her contribution in the Ukrainian pavilion at this year's Architecture Biennale in Venice, she is taking the Atlas of Ukrainian Traditional Architecture developed by her grandmother and mother as her starting point. In her work on revealing this 50-year never published project, she is joined by filmmaker Maxime Faure, who is creating a living archive that captures not only the materials themselves but also the surrounding community—including Fedir Tetianych’s son Bohdan. The first excerpts from his film will be presented.
