Anushka Chkheidze

© Levan Maisuradze

Anushka Chkheidze’s artistic works often interweave context-specific field recordings and recordings of choirs into installation configurations. Her collaboration with choirs from her home country and engagement with the political developments of our time, especially in Georgia, are influential for the development of her works. Chkheidze released her first solo album Halfie in 2020. In 2023, she realised the sound installation Lost Lullaby for the Monheim Triennale. The Sound – a composition that was based on sound research she had conducted in the Biozentrum of the University of Basel, which was empty during the Covid-19 pandemic, was released in 2024.
