On 320 pages, the Emscherkunstweg catalogue documents the project period from 2019 to 2023 with photos and texts and presents the collection of what will soon be 24 works of art. Various guest contributions are dedicated to the new works and aspects of the artistic revision of the collection. Further essays situate the concept of the Emscherkunstweg in the current debate on artistic and curatorial practice in public space and address its special features as part of the Emscher conversion and landscape redesign. In addition to numerous illustrations, the photo series Emscher Walk by artist Arwed Messmer follows the course of the Emscher.
The catalogue in DIN A5 format can also be used as a travel guide along the Emscherkunstweg and will be published in German and English on 26 February.
