Boris Sieverts

© Josefine Kaiser

Boris Sieverts studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and initially worked as a shepherd and in several architecture firms. Since 1997, he has been guiding people through the gray areas of urban agglomerations as a tour guide with his “Büro für Städtereisen” (Office for City Trips). Sieverts uses sophisticated spatial sequences to create landscape connections between disparate environments. Based on the insights gained, the “Büro für Städtereisen” develops visions and interpretations of the explored environments and feeds these into spatial planning and cultural activities. Sieverts is also involved in numerous urban issues and is present as an artist in public spaces. His central concern is the activation and participation of city dwellers themselves. Boris Sieverts has taught at universities internationally and participated in exhibitions at home and abroad. He lives and works in Cologne.
