Ziran Sha Pei

Ziran Sha Pei deals artistically with ableism, queer feminism, racism and right-wing extremism in Western, Muslim and East Asian culture. In 2021, the artist founded the AStA anti-discrimination department at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and was one of the first people to actively campaign for equality issues in the educational institution with projects.

As a descendant of resistance fighters from a Muslim minority in China who survived the war crimes of the Japanese Unit 731 during the Second World War, Ziran Sha Pei tries to convey the family's memories and historical testimonies artistically and didactically in painting and video installations. As part of an artistic research on migration, Ziran Pei Sha walked thousands of kilometers of the historic Silk Road as a solo traveler from 2013 to 2016.

Hamminkeln

The Grand Snail Tour will be accompanied by literary, photographic and illustrative artists, who will collect impressions and reflections from the same city at the same time as the Trailer is there and put them into visual or literary form. The result is a paratext on the three-year tour, a travel chronicle in the form of a kaleidoscope of stories, connections and snapshots in the 53 cities of the region, revealing the simultaneities and non-simultaneities of the Grand Snail Tour.

Hamminkeln by Erdem Teper

zurecht, dass er den menschen überlebt;
während die zeit bereits
das leichentuch des menschen webt
und der baum schaut den menschen an,
beide aus haut, rinde und knochen
nur hat der neue mensch
seine beziehung zur natur unterbrochen
