Trio Wellenbad

© Philip Kistner

Als an interdisciplinary group, Trio Wellenbad invents musical formats for public swimming pools: computer science, architecture and composition come together in the trio members Joseph Baader, Nathalie Brum and Vincent Stange to perform in a musical and wet way.

Since 2023, Trio Wellenbad has been playing electroacoustic music in sports and thermal baths, which can be heard underwater via special loudspeakers. Beginning with concerts and installations at the Frankenbad Bonn and the Münstertherme Düsseldorf, further performances followed in Aachen, Berlin and Innsbruck. For the Beethovenfest Bonn 2025, Trio Wellenbad developed a sound and video installation and a world premiere with trombone and saxophone at the Frankenbad Bonn.

Xanten

The Grand Snail Tour will be accompanied by literary, photographic and illustrative artists, who will collect impressions and reflections from the same city at the same time as the Trailer is there and put them into visual or literary form. The result is a paratext on the three-year tour, a travel chronicle in the form of a kaleidoscope of stories, connections and snapshots in the 53 cities of the region, revealing the simultaneities and non-simultaneities of the Grand Snail Tour.
