Özlem Avcı is a teacher, artist and DJ. In her sets, she combines traditional folk music, diaspora pop, Anatolian rock and belly dance music - sound spaces between memory, origin and the present. Her work moves between education, art and activism. She has performed at the Thalia Theatre (Lessingtage) and at the House of Namuz - Gazino. In co-operation with initiatives such as Semra Ertan or gwa Kolibri, she sees her artistic practice as an archive of migrant history.
Begleitet wird die Grand Snail Tour von Künstler*innen aus dem Bereich Literatur, Fotografie und Zeichnung, die zeitgleich zum Aufenthalt des Tourmobils, Eindrücke und Reflexionen aus jeweils derselben Stadt sammeln und diese sie visuell oder literarisch ins Bild setzen. So entsteht ein Paratext zur 3-jährigen Tour, der in Form einer Reisechronik, ein Kaleidoskop an Geschichten, Verbindungen, Momentaufnahmen in den 53 Städten der Region als Gleichzeitigkeiten und Ungleichzeitigkeiten zur Grand Snail Tour sichtbar werden lässt.
Marijpol (*1982) is an illustrator. Her practice combines comics, illustration and design. She studied visual communication and illustration in Hamburg.
