Nikita Kadan (*1982 in Kyiv, Ukraine) is artist and curator and studied monumental painting at the National Academy of Fine Art in Kyiv until 2007. He works with painting, graphics, and installation, often in collaboration with architects, sociologists and human rights activists. Nikita Kadan is – amongst others – a member of the artist group REP (Revolutionary Experimental Space) as well as of the collective DE NE DE. Nikita Kadan’s works are presented in exhibitions worldwide, most recently at the Kyiv Perennial (2024) in Berlin and in the Dare to Dream (2024) exhibition at the Pinchuk Art Centre in Venice, among others. In 2015 Nikita Kadan represented Ukraine at the 56th Venice Biennale. His works can be found in the collections of the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, the MUMOK Museum of Modern Art in Vienna or the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.

Wesel

The Grand Snail Tour will be accompanied by literary, photographic and illustrative artists, who will collect impressions and reflections from the same city at the same time as the Trailer is there and put them into visual or literary form. The result is a paratext on the three-year tour, a travel chronicle in the form of a kaleidoscope of stories, connections and snapshots in the 53 cities of the region, revealing the simultaneities and non-simultaneities of the Grand Snail Tour.
