Heinrich Holtgreve

Born in Bochum in 1987, he lives between Hamburg and Berlin. In 2013, Heinrich Holtgreve completed his studies in photography at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. He has been a member of the Ostkreuz agency since 2016. His long-term project Das Internet als Ort (The Internet as a Place) has been exhibited at venues such as the Deichtorhallen Hamburg, the German Museum of Technology as part of the permanent exhibition Das Netz (The Net) and at the Photo21 festival in Melbourne. He is publishing the current chapter of the project in collaboration with Moritz Metz in the form of the Internet Explorers podcast. In addition to commissioned work for media outlets such as Die Zeit, GEO, SZ Magazin and The Guardian, he works for clients in the cultural sector such as Urbane Künste Ruhr and the Kunstmuseum Bochum.

Since the beginning of 2023, he has been leading workshops on the topics of AI and photography. After teaching at HAW Hamburg, FH Bielefeld and HfK Bremen, he has been a lecturer and workshop leader at the Ostkreuzschule since 2021.

Waltrop

Begleitet wird die Grand Snail Tour von Künstler*innen aus dem Bereich Literatur, Fotografie und Illustration, die zeitgleich zum Aufenthalt des Tourmobils, Eindrücke und Reflexionen aus jeweils derselben Stadt sammeln und diese sie visuell oder literarisch ins Bild setzen. So entsteht ein Paratext zur 3-jährigen Tour, der in Form einer Reisechronik, ein Kaleidoskop an Geschichten, Verbindungen, Momentaufnahmen in den 53 Städten der Region als Gleichzeitigkeiten und Ungleichzeitigkeiten zur Grand Snail Tour sichtbar werden lässt.

Dass eine Chronik nicht nur das Geplante dokumentiert, sondern auch die Zufälle, Unterbrechungen und Umwege einer Reise, zeigt der Beitrag zu Waltrop von Daniel Sadrowski. Nachdem am Veranstaltungstag, dem 15. Mai 2025, keine Chronik realisierte werden konnte, reiste der Fotograf exakt ein Jahr später nach Waltrop und nahm in Anlehnung an die New American Photography die Peripherie der Stadt in den Blick. Seine Schwarz-Weiß-Fotografien erkunden die ländlich geprägten Übergangsräume am nördlichen Rand des Ruhrgebiets.

Daniel Sadrowski

Daniel Sadrowski initially studied social sciences with the aim of becoming a journalist. His passion for photography led him to study photo design in Dortmund, where he earned his diploma in 2003.
