Die RuhrgebietsSpatzen

©Daniel Sadrowski

The RuhrgebietsSpatzen are Pani Kostka & Mercedes Tuccini. The glamorous entertainment duo from the Ruhr area. Their hearts beat for Schlager!
As Jonas Leifert, Mercedes Tuccini initiates and curates artistic projects that historically address current social issues from the perspective of the Ruhr region. In addition to the entertainment culture of the Ruhr coal district around 1900, he is currently particularly interested in air pollution with environmental and health movements in the 1970s.
Pani Kostka, also known as Julia Nitschke, works as a performance artist, curator and writer, focusing on political memory in queer-feminist and familial post-eastern contexts. She works with Grupa Mauczka on artistic projects on Poland's migration history and questions German memory politics with absurd performances.

Unna
